About Me
I never would have dreamed that I would become a teacher. Despite my mother's urgings to get my teaching certificate, I decided to major in English as an undergrad (a major that means everything and nothing in the job market, kids). After a few years in a job that was totally unrelated to my English degree, I decided it was time to finally take my mother's advice and get a teaching certificate. Upon earning my M.A. from the University of Kentucky in Secondary English Education, I moved to Hardin County and began my tenure at North Hardin High School. Eleven years later I am still teaching English and am proud to be a Trojan!
In addition to the obvious hobbies like reading and writing, I also enjoy dancing. I have spent the better part of my life as either a dance student or teacher, and dancing truly is a part of my soul. Too bad I can't sing, or I would have beaten a path to the "great white way" and tried my hand as a Broadway dancer. Some dreams are best left for the shower I suppose :)! I guess the next best thing to being a working artist myself is to share the beauty of various artistic genres with my students.
I look forward to getting to know you this year, as we navigate literature and grammar together!
